The Importance of Evaluation

When it comes to securing funding, it is vital that an organisation can show the positive impact it is having. Clearly stating how your organisation improved x, y and z makes it much easier for prospective funders to see how important your organisation is and gives you a higher chance of being successful in your funding bid. Thorough evaluation techniques also allow you to better understand your communities and can help you to tailor your services to fit the people you support.

These are just some of the many reasons why properly evaluating is so important, but it is something that in the third sector can fall to the wayside. We are so focussed on the important work that we do, we find it hard to shout about it. This is where our new training course titled 'Evaluation Basics - Are You Making a Difference?' steps in.

Rated ‘excellent’ by all attendees ‘Evaluation Basics’ provides an “engaging” introduction to common evaluation techniques that can be crucial to your organisation/business.

These skills can help you regularly demonstrate that your organisation is working well and highlight areas for development or further funding to stakeholders.

The three-hour session will cover:

• Why evaluation and monitoring is important

• Clarifying the jargon – outputs/outcomes/impact

• Basic evaluation and monitoring methods

• Planning and learning

• Showing stakeholders what you have/can achieve

“Very good, informative, engaging, helpful”.
